Shalwar Kameez
can be made from many different materials like silk, satin, khaddar, denim, cotton, chicken, banarsi silk, lawn, pure silk, chiffon, georgette, wool and more..

SHALWAR: Shalwar is a sort of loose pajama like trouser. The legs are wide at the top, and narrow at the bottom. There is a drawstring at the top of the waistband to hold up the shalwar. The pants can be wide and baggy, or they can be cut quite narrow, on the bias. In the latter case, they are known as churidar pajama.

KAMEEZ: The Kameez, in shalwar Kameez suit, is a long shirt. The side seams are left open below the navel, which gives the wearer greater freedom of movement. The word Kameez is derived from the Latin camisia (shirt or tunic), from which it probably made its way into various European languages and also into Arabic, the likely immediate source for Kameez. The Kameez is usually cut straight, but slightly curved in the waist area.

DUPATTA: Women wear a long scarf or shawl with shalwar Kameez called a dupatta around the head or neck. For Muslim women, the dupatta is an alternate to scarves. The dupatta is useful when the head must be covered  for prayers. For most women, the dupatta is simply a stylish accessory that can be worn over one shoulder or draped around the chest and over both shoulders.

Trouser shirt, T shirt and jeans  can be worn but are not very comfortable in the heat of the day, shorts and skirts are a big "no-no".

Hair are worn straight. Streaking is quickly becoming an expression. Working women prefer either short hair, knotted hair or a nice and comfortable Joura. In parties or elsewhere, straight hair with waves of steps dancing along the shoulder portrays a carefree look of the Pakistani woman of the 90's.

Pakistani Gold Industry thrives due to its culture, nothing less than 22-Carat is acceptable! Extensive Jewellery is bought for the bride as gifts (dowry.) Most of the designs depict the delicate designs of the Muslim heritage. Traditionally, Gold is exclusively for feminine use. Jhumar, tikka, payal, Kara are local ornaments and have special meanings in different occasions.
