Tips for Writing a Resume
Your Objectives

People use the Internet to search for their dream jobs and more and more recruitment companies are using it to post those dream jobs! Surveys indicate that there are between one and two million jobs posted and over 5,000 career sites. In a recent informal survey 85% of recruiters said they post jobs on the Internet! Here are some useful tips on how to make a resume for the Internet.

 - List your objective in a clear and concise manner.

 - Use a chronological resume format if you are staying in the same field. Use a functional resume format if you are changing fields so as to show transferable skills and to take attention off your previous job titles.

3. Action words and Power verbs,  Insert result-oriented words such as prepared, developed, achieved, capitalized, demonstrated, effected, enabled, implemented, performed, restructured, secured, etc. Replace "responsibilities" in your resume with accomplishments.

4. Keep resume short,  Recruiters scan a resume in less than 30 seconds. Keep it short. Detailed information can be discussed during the interview.

5. Have someone PROOFREAD your resume,  Most recruiters will not even consider resumes that contain typos or misspelled words. Sloppy resume = sloppy work!

6. Do not e-mail your resume as an attachment, unless requested. Do not send your resume as a separate attachment. Recruiters prefer it in the body of the e-mail. it is less time consuming.

7. Research, job descriptions, and the Internet categories are constantly changing! Research the companies you are interested in by visiting their web site. Search the Internet for new sites and new job opportunities on a regular basis.
